West Ham scouts have been spotted watching a 17-goal striker and his agent has been instructed to sell as a new report makes Habib Diallo claim.

Scoring goals has been a major issue for West Ham for much of the season.

And David Moyes admitted after the defeat to Crystal Palace that he has serious concerns about West Ham’s inability to create and score goals in open play.

The future of strikers Michail Antonio and Gianluca Scamacca is unclear at West Ham beyond the summer.

And thus far Danny Ings has struggled to adapt to the system played by Moyes. Ings finds himself consigned to the bench and has been largely ineffective when he comes on.

Hammers already being linked with a host of forwards

So it is no surprise to hear West Ham have been sounding out potential striker signings for the next window.

The Hammers have been heavily linked with summer moves for Coventry striker Viktor Gyokeres and Boca owned forward Mateo Retegui.

A report also claimed West Ham want to persuade Lucas Paqueta’s close friend Pedro to join West Ham.

But it appears West Ham very much have their eye on a forward in Ligue 1.

West Ham scouts have been spotted watching a 17-goal striker and his agent has been instructed to sell as a report makes a Habib Diallo claim.

According to sources speaking to Football Insider, West Ham were one of the clubs with scouts watching Strasbourg striker Diallo in a 2-1 defeat to Lyon on Friday night.

Diallo is a Senegal international with a goal record of better than one every other game this season.

Ligue 1 is a key market for Hammers head of recruitment Rob Newman. And West Ham scouts were reportedly in the stands casting their eye over Diallo.

The report claims agent Mark McKay has been told to sell Diallo to interested parties.

So if West Ham liked what they saw then a deal is clearly there to be done.

The likes of Aston Villa are also said to be interested in the 27-year-old, who is on course to score more goals this season than the previous two combined.
