West Ham want to persuade Lucas Paqueta’s close friend Pedro to sign on one condition this summer despite a failed Serie A spell.
West Ham have had a major issue with scoring goals all season long.
Given David Moyes’ side have one of the better defensive records in the Premier League, it is fair to say West Ham’s profligacy is the main reason the club have found themselves in a relegation battle.
The future of strikers Michail Antonio and Gianluca Scamacca is unclear at West Ham beyond the summer.
And thus far Danny Ings has struggled to adapt to the system played by Moyes.
So it is no surprise to hear West Ham have been sounding out potential striker signings for the next window.

West Ham want to persuade Lucas Paqueta’s close friend Pedro to sign on one condition this summer despite failed Serie A spell
The Hammers have been heavily linked with summer moves for Coventry striker Viktor Gyokeres and Boca owned forward Mateo Retegui.
Now another name has been thrown into the mix.
West Ham want to persuade Lucas Paqueta’s close friend Pedro to sign on one condition this summer despite his failed Serie A spell.
The 25-year-old Brazil striker played in the same Flamengo youth side as his fellow Rio native Paqueta from 2007 until 2011.
They have remained close friends ever since, playing for Brazil’s youth and senior sides together too.
Now West Ham want to reunite the duo at the London Stadium this summer according to Football Insider.
The site claims West Ham are keeping a close eye on Pedro, who has scored 101 goals in Brazilian football but struggled after moving to Europe to play for Fiorentina between 2019 and 2021.

Links tally with Rob Newman’s Brazil network
West Ham fans may remember the 6ft 1in ace from Brazil’s World Cup squad in Qatar.
Pedro has scored 14 goals in 15 games this season for Flamengo.
The rumour certainly tallies with the fact West Ham’s head of recruitment Rob Newman has been busy over the last year setting up contacts with several Brazilian clubs.
“West Ham will line up a summer deal for Flamengo striker Pedro if they secure Premier League survival, sources have told Football Insider,” reports transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke.
