Incredible international striker Viktor Gyokeres has spoken out on £20m West Ham move links and his mysterious celebration.

West Ham have had a major issue with scoring goals all season long.

Given David Moyes’ side have one of the better defensive records in the Premier League, it is fair to say West Ham’s profligacy is the main reason the club find themselves sat in the relegation zone.

The future of strikers Michail Antonio and Gianluca Scamacca is unclear at West Ham beyond the summer.

So it is no surprise to hear West Ham have been sounding out potential striker signings for the next window.

According to The Sun, Moyes has been personally attending Coventry City games to run the rule over their brilliant Sweden forward Viktor Gyokeres.

The report claims Moyes has been seriously impressed by the 24-year-old, who moved to Coventry from Brighton, and West Ham are lining up a £20m move in the summer.

Gyokeres is a class act and is joint leader in terms of goals and assists in the Championship this season.

The powerful and skilful Hammers target has 18 goals so far this season – the same number he scored in the last campaign – and eight assists.

Now incredible international striker Gyokeres has spoken out on those £20m West Ham move links and his mysterious celebration.

Gyokeres is currently on international duty with Sweden and notched a goal and assist in their 5-0 win over Azerbaijan last night.

And when West Ham’s interest was put to him by homeland outlet fotbollskanalen, it is fair to say the striker was coy.

“It’s just rumours. We’ll see what happens this summer,” Gyokeres told the site.

“I’m trying not to get any information about it right now. I want to focus on the matches (for Coventry). Then you can take it (the news on my future).

“There is no transfer window now. So it feels a bit unnecessary to put energy into it now.”

After scoring for Sweden the West Ham target put both hands over his eyes. That sparked speculation it was in reference to not being distracted by the recent transfer reports.

But while the striker refused to reveal the meaning behind the celebration, he said he will be able to during the next international break in June.

“No not now, later, I’ll keep it to myself for a while longer,” he added.

“I won’t say what it means. The next gathering is in June, then I can tell.”

Let’s hope by then West Ham are still in the Premier League and seriously honing in on making Gyokeres one of their summer additions.
