Man United man speaks out on new West Ham links with £50m star Aaron Wan-Bissaka as reports claim he is free to leave Old Trafford this summer.

Last month we reported that the potential Qatari takeover at Manchester United could have a big pay off for West Ham.

That’s because reports abound that the Red Devils will conduct a fire sale with West Ham targets such as Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Scott McTominay among those shipped out.

One of the big problem positions for David Moyes this season has been in the fullback areas.

West Ham will be desperate to bring a top quality right-back with pace and power to the London Stadium this summer.

And Wan-Bissaka, who joined Man United for £50m from Crystal Palace, has been heavily linked with a move from Man United to West Ham.

West Ham have chased the defender for the last two transfer windows and allegedly still want him when the next one rolls around in a few months.

Yesterday Football Insider claimed the Hammers are still monitoring Wan-Bissaka who has been told he is “free to leave” by Erik ten Hag.

United in Focus writer and Man United expert Dan Coombs has exclusively explained to Hammers News that it may not be so cut and dried for West Ham and Wan-Bissaka.

“Coming into 2023 it looked like Wan-Bissaka was heading for an exit,” Coombs told Hammers News.

“An early injury to Diogo Dalot in January gave him a chance and he grabbed it. Since then, Wan-Bissaka has been the more reliable of the two.

“Our big losses away at Liverpool and Newcastle came when he didn’t play. We are strongly linked with signing a new right-back but it’s 50-50 which one (of Wan-Bissaka or Dalot) stays.

“Of the two, Dalot’s contract expires in 2024, and until that is renewed, Wan-Bissaka is on firmer ground. It will be interesting to see who is selected at Wembley against Brighton later this month.”
