Two Eintracht Frankfurt stars wanted by West Ham are now set for free transfers after talks were cancelled with Daichi Kamada and Evan Ndicka.

West Ham still have work to do to secure their Premier League status.

But two wins in a week have given the Hammers a massive boost in that regard as attentions now turn to another European quarter-final.

It was around this time last year West Ham knew victory over Lyon could set up a Europa League semi-final with Eintracht Frankfurt.

West Ham fans know all too well what happened next as a feisty semi fell the way of the Germans, who went on to win the competition.

The way Frankfurt’s fans behaved, culminating in that pitch invasion and the spoof ICF banners goading West Ham in the second leg, has given birth to a real dislike between the clubs.

Although West Ham were clearly impressed with some of their players having tried to sign Filip Kostic in the summer and having been linked with forward Djibril Sow, classy midfielder Daichi Kamada and defender Evan Ndicka.

West Ham missed out on Kostic to Juventus. But now the Hammers could take a measure of revenge over their German rivals.

Because Eintracht Frankfurt duo wanted by West Ham are now set for free transfers after contract talks were cancelled with Kamada and Ndicka.

West Ham have been credited with a keen interest in Japan star Kamada ever since the clash with Frankfurt.

Central defender Ndicka has been linked with the Hammers too. Back in January reports claimed the Hammers are one of 10 clubs interested in him.

Now it has been confirmed that Frankfurt have given up hope trying to get Kamada and Ndicka to sign new deals with the club.

Sport1 and Bild report that Frankfurt have withdrawn their proposed contract offers for Kamada and Ndicka which means both will leave on a free transfer for certain in the summer.

The reports claims both Kamada and Ndicka are keen on moving to the Premier League.

Although both are interesting numerous clubs – with the likes of Barca and Atletico Madrid reportedly keen on Kamada.

The Hammers have struggled to reach the high standards they had set in the league this season and so too have Frankfurt until the second half of the campaign.

Landing one or both of those players would clearly massively improve West Ham.

And it would be a small measure of revenge over our German chums too.
