Hammers boss David Moyes desperately tried to bolster his centre-forward ranks during the summer transfer window.

Unfortunately though, the Scot was unable to do so.

Luckily for us, Michail Antonio has managed to get through the first few months of the season unscathed.

In spite of that though, Moyes still needs to sign another striker in January.

And it seems as though the West Ham boss has his eye on one forward in particular.

The Express reckon that the Hammers have the Argentinian striker firmly in their sights.

The 26-year-old is currently on loan with Hellas Verona and he has been absolutely on fire this season.

Simeone has bagged nine goals and three assists in just 11 Serie A games so far this term (Transfermarkt).

More than one goal involvement per game on average really is some going. He is a very hard working forward and his playing style is quintessentially South American what with his work-rate, desire and tenacity.

West Ham have a very big problem though.

Hellas Verona have an option to buy him for £10.2 million (The Express). They could, of course, exercise that option and then sell him onto West Ham for a profit.

Giovanni Someone has been so good on loan with Hellas Verona from Cagliari that it will be very hard for the Hammers to get their hands on the South American.

If we manage to get a deal done though, we think Simeone would be an excellent addition to David Moyes’s squad.
