West Ham United face a real battle on our hands, as Chelsea reportedly line up a move to sign Victor Boniface.
Chelsea now want to sign West Ham target Victor Boniface in the January transfer window, according to a report from Football Insider.
The 23-year-old Bayer Leverkusen hitman is one of the continent’s most deadly strikers, and West Ham apparently want to bring him to the London Stadium this month.
Hammers boss David Moyes is desperately searching for the perfect striker for his system, and Boniface would be the ideal man for the job.
Michail Antonio shouldn’t be anywhere near the first-team squad anymore, with an big upgrade required on the Jamaican as a matter of urgency.
Boniface is on another level to the 33-year-old, and I’d absolutely love him at the London Stadium.
However, with Chelsea now in the hunt for the Nigerian ace’s signature, West Ham may well face an impossible task…

Chelsea Victor Boniface claim is a hammer blow for West Ham
If the Blues really are in the race for the powerful striker’s signature, the Hammers may well have to switch targets.
West Ham signing Boniface in the January transfer window was already an unrealistic prospect, but it may well now be mission impossible for the East London outfit.
And that’s a real shame – the Nigeria international is exactly the kind of striker we need and he would slot into Moyes’s system like a glove.
He has bagged a really impressive 16 goals and eight assists in 23 games for Bayer Leverkusen this season (Transfermarkt).
The 23-year-old has pace in abundance, unreal power and is a constant menace for opposing defenders to deal with.
If Chelsea beat West Ham to the signing of Victor Boniface in the January transfer window, it will really hurt, there’s no doubt about that.
