Bournemouth supporters aimed a hilarious chant at Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez yesterday, but the West Ham United fans started it.
Liverpool absolutely thumped Bournemouth 4-0 yesterday, with Darwin Nunez bagging a couple of goals for the visitors.
The West Ham fans will know all about how it feels taking a beating from Jurgen Klopp’s side. It was only last month when they handed us a 5-1 whooping up at Anfield.
Hammers boss David Moyes has turned things around since that result, and Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola will be hoping to do the same.
For a neutral, one thing really stood out at the Vitality Stadium, and that was a chant emanating from the home end…

Bournemouth supporters aim hilarious chant at Darwin Nunez
The Cherries fans had a truly brilliant song up their sleeve for the Reds hitman yesterday, although the South American clearly had the last laugh!
The Bournemouth fans serenaded Nunez with chants of, for want of a better phrase, ‘You’re not a very good Andy Carroll’.
It’s a brilliant chant, but the Bournemouth fans didn’t come up with it. That honour goes to the West Ham fans, who sang it towards the Uruguayan forward back in December up at Anfield.
Andy Carroll joined West Ham on loan in the 2012/13 campaign, before we made his move a permanent one for around £15 million the following summer (BBC). He then left to join Newcastle United on a free transfer in the summer of 2019.
He was a hugely popular figure at the London Stadium, and was just as well-known for his long ponytail and antics off the pitch as he was for his goals and performances on the field of play.
It could be argued that Carroll never truly fulfilled his potential in the game, and that’s a real shame. The fact that he’s still remembered by English fans now for his hairstyle tells you all you need to know!
What West Ham and Bournemouth fans sang to Darwin Nunez was clearly tongue in cheek, and was a top-class bit of banter that didn’t overstep the mark. Love to see it.
