David Moyes is beginning to losing patience with West Ham United centre-back Nayef Aguerd.

The 27-year-old defender joined the Hammers from Rennes in the summer of 2022 for around €31 million (£27 million) according to The Athletic.

He made a great start to life at the London Stadium after returning from a long-term ankle injury, but seems to have regressed badly over the past few months, and recent reports have claimed that he could soon be dropped by Moyes.
It surely won’t be too long before the Morocco international loses his place in the team to Konstantinos Mavropanos, maybe even as early as today…
West Ham man Nayef Aguerd on very thin ice as report makes fresh claim about David Moyes
The Scot is beginning to grow tired of the Moroccan’s error-prone nature according to a report from The Guardian‘s Jacob Steinberg.
Aguerd has always been very comfortable when receiving the ball and his passing through the lines is a joy to watch. However, he seems to be a disaster waiting to happen at times, when he is asked to do some proper old fashioned defending.

The former Rennes star is extremely error-prone as very rash in both his decision-making and in the challenge.
The Moroccan’s positional awareness leaves a lot to be desired and he really does need to start doing the basics right, if he is to hold down a place in the Hammers starting XI.
If I were David Moyes, I would bring Konstantinos Mavropanos into the West Ham team in place of Nayef Aguerd now. The Greek ace has been superb in the two games that he has played for the Hammers so far.
Aguerd seems to be running out of time and one more big mistake could see him banished from the starting lineup for quite some time. So the question has to be asked: Why not take him out of the firing line before he makes another big error?
