The Hammers have been in fine form this season, but so have Villa, and they were quite simply too good for us today.

Lucas Paqueta is someone who has been a key player for David Moyes this season, and he produced numerous moments of magic again today, as well as some not so good moments.
He has been left out of the most recent two Brazil squads because of the ongoing investigation into potential betting breaches, but there is a campaign in his homeland to get him back involved with the national team squad.
The South American has the ability to produce absolute brilliance out of nothing, and one thing he did today in particular really impressed Carragher…
Jamie Carragher stunned by something West Ham player did vs Aston Villa
Carragher was audibly stunned by Paqueta’s brilliance at Villa Park today, live on air during Sky Sports’ broadcast of today’s game (Sunday, October 22nd, 5:18pm).
In the 23rd minute of the game, Paqueta nut-megged Boubacar Kamara on the edge of his own box, and Carragher was stunned by his brilliance:
“Cor, he’s had a some lovely touches already.”

And then just seconds later Paqueta did Kamara up like a kipper with a really clever pass inside to Edson Alvarez, and Carragher swooned:
“Oooh”.
He is obviously a very special talent indeed, but in my opinion he takes unnecessary risks at times, and he cost us today with one bit of showboating that really wasn’t needed at the time.
The 26-year-old is a real superstar, there’s no doubting that. However, I do feel like he needs to pick his moments better, regarding when he he shows off with the ball at his feet.
Hopefully he’ll learn a lesson from today. Let’s not forget though, this game is about entertainment, and he delivers that to the fans in droves.
Jamie Carragher clearly loves the West Ham star and so do we.
