West Ham United have been conceding more goals this season for one very simple reason according to Jamie Carragher.
Jamie Carragher was a guest in the Sky Sports studio this afternoon for the West Ham vs Everton Premier League clash at the London Stadium.

Hammers boss David Moyes made some big signings in the summer, and the boys made a fine start to the 2023/24 campaign, both domestically and on the continent.
However, things seem to have gone stale recently, and it has been claimed that Jose Mourinho is being eyed to replace Moyes in the West Ham hot-seat.
It’s so obvious to see that our main problems recently have stemmed from our truly awful defending, with eight goals having been shipped in our last three games in all competitions.
So what’s the reason for that? We’re not hard to beat anymore, that’s obvious to see. And Carragher thinks he knows why…

Jamie Carragher has noticed simple reason why West Ham have been shipping goals left right and centre
Carragher was a guest in the Sky Sports studio today for the West Ham vs Everton clash.
And he responded when asked why he thinks the Hammers have been weaker defensively recently, when speaking on Sky Sports (Sunday October 29th, 12:41pm):
“They have got more flair players in the team now. That’s something the West Ham fans have called for. You look at those numbers (goals conceded and shots faced in the Premier League), you expect them to be tighter defensively.”
I’m not sure that Carragher has got that one right in all fairness.
Sure, Moyes brought in Mohammed Kudus in the summer but aside from that, the Scot signed a defensive midfielder, a central midfielder and a centre-back.
And Moyes never sets the team up with any kind off attacking intent anyway. I believe our defensive issues have stemmed from two things this season – 1. Nayef Aguerd’s poor form and 2. Alphonse Areola’s poor ability to command his back-line with authority and his lack of communication skills.
Jamie Carragher thinks the reason why West Ham have been an easy touch defensively this season is because of the fact we have more flair players this season.
I think that’s quite simply not true though.
