West Ham saw out a drab 0-0 draw with Burnley at Turf Moor this afternoon.
The Burnley vs West Ham clash was an extremely frustrating one to watch.
We should be beating teams like the Clarets if we are to have any chance of finishing inside the top four this season.
It wasn’t to be though, and as they say…respect the point!
David Moyes set his team up to be rigid and hard to beat yet again. That part of it we got bang on.
West Ham kept a clean sheet in tough conditions at Turf Moor, but we lacked any kind of creativity or composure inside the final third.
There was one Hammers player who deserved to be on the winning side today though.
West Ham player stood out during Burnley draw
Declan Rice was in absolutely sensational form for the Hammers at Turf Moor this afternoon.
The way the 22-year-old drove forward with the ball, especially during the second-half was hugely impressive.
Dec grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck.
Rice recorded some really impressive stats today. He had 70 touches, made three successful dribbles and recorded an 83% completion rate from 52 attempted passes (Who Scored).
The powerful midfielder also made one tackle, one interception, one clearance and registered two successful long balls (Who Scored).
Unfortunately, he couldn’t do everything on his own and the game ended 0-0. It is what it is. West Ham have always found it tough going against Burnley at Turf Moor.
And today was no different. We’ve just got to try and find a way of winning these tight games. Rice has done all he can to help us, but he needs more support.
On to the next one away at Arsenal on Wednesday night.
