Burnley is never an easy place to go and we all knew that it would be an incredibly tough afternoon for the Hammers in Lancashire.

It was a typically blustering day in England’s north-west. And there wasn’t much pretty football on display at Turf moor.

One West Ham player stood out from the rest though, as far as technical ability goes at least.

West Ham fans praise Manuel Lanzini after display vs Burnley

The 28-year-old Argentinian ace really made us tick in the final third.

His ability to retain possession in tight areas really is proving to be a great asset for this West Ham team.

He has struggled to force his way into the starting XI under David Moyes but he patiently bided his time and continued to work hard.

And his patience really is paying off now.

It seems as though Manu has really established himself as a vital player for the Hammers once again.

And dare I say it, the old Lanzini may well be back.

One thing’s for sure, the former River Plate man will have a very big role to play for West Ham United this season.
