West Ham United play host to Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Both West Ham and Manchester City are unbeaten after the first four Premier League games of the season, with Pep Guardiola’s men topping the table after a return of maximum points so far.

It will obviously be incredibly hard for the Hammers to get anything from the game at the London Stadium, and David Moyes will be well aware of that.

After our fine start to the campaign though, the Cityzens won’t be relishing a trip to East London, that’s for sure.

Man City are the best team in world football. We will need everything to go our way if we are to get a result.

And ahead of the match, there is some bad news for the West Ham fans to digest…

West Ham fans will be fuming after official announcement ahead of Manchester City clash

According to WHUFC.com, Andy Madley will referee that clash between the Hammers and Man City on Saturday.

It’s hard enough for West Ham already when we come up against the so-called ‘big six’. We never seem to get decisions given in our favour.

And now, it might even be harder for us on Saturday…

That’s because Andy Madley has history with the Hammers and played a part in one of the worst decisions I have ever seen given during a Premier League football match.

Madley was in charge of the match between West Ham and Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last season, and after being sent to the pitch side monitor, he ruled out Maxwel Cornet’s equaliser late on in the match.

The decision was an absolutely farcical one. Sure he didn’t rule the goal out originally, but he still chose to disallow it after viewing the incident on the monitor.

The last thing West Ham need is Andy Madley to buckle under the pressure during our game against Manchester City this weekend. I’m sure the Hammers fans will join me in thinking why on earth he has been given another chance to referee one of our games, after making such a shocking decision that affected us badly last year.

The Premier League actually confirmed that the decision by Madley was one of the big six errors last season from officials.

I just think that it’s terribly unfair that he is refereeing a West Ham game again. Hopefully nobody is mentioning his name after the match.
