Pablo Fornals has been heavily linked with an exit from West Ham United over the past few months.

West Ham signed Pablo Fornals from Villarreal in the summer of 2019 for around £25 million (The Telegraph), and he initially made a huge impact at the London Stadium.

However, he has fallen down the pecking order under Hammers boss David Moyes since October last year.

I recently highlighted how it’s probably in Fornals’ best interest to leave West Ham in January.

And it seems as though that could indeed happen…

According to a report from Spanish publication Vamos Mi Sevilla FC, a move to Sevilla would be Fornals’ preference in January.

That really doesn’t surprise me, he has barely started a game for us over the past 11 months.

The Spaniard is a terrific footballer but whenever he does play, he is predominantly shunted out on the left wing – a position that renders him totally ineffective due to his lack of pace.

There is quite simply too much competition for the 27-year-old in the central midfield positions.

With Euro 2024 on the horizon, he really does need to start playing regular football, if he is to have any chance whatsoever of forcing his way into the Spain squad.

Unfortunately for Pablo Fornals though, he won’t be getting that at West Ham.
