David Moyes has provided a Tomas Soucek injury update ahead of West Ham United’s Europa League clash with Genk and Premier League game against Tottenham.

The 26-year-old Hammers warrior suffered horrific facial injuries after an awful challenge from Everton forward Salomon Rondon on Sunday.
Soucek is an unbelievable specimen, he really is.

David Moyes shares Tomas Soucek injury update
The Czech ace is seemingly in contention to play against Genk tomorrow night.
Moyes spoke to reporters this afternoon and gave the lowdown on Soucek’s current situation, as quoted by WHUFC.com:
“Tomas Souček is okay. He’s obviously been a bit sore, had a stitch and he got his lip redone the other day by another doctor. He’s had stitches in his lip, in his cheek and above his nose as well. I think he’s fine. There’s a decision whether we rest him, but I don’t think his injury is any reason not to play him. He wants to play. He’s had his lip sutured – he got it done by a plastic surgeon, he’s had a couple of stitches in between his nose and his eyebrows. He’s fine! I said to him ‘look at my eyebrows Tomas – all mine are stretched after years of being a centre-half!’.”
Despite Moyes’s comments on Soucek, the big Czech ace surely deserves a rest to ensure that he is fit and ready to take on Tottenham on Sunday.
Soucek will be desperate to play. There is no doubt about that.
The 26-year-old hasn’t had a break over the past 18 months, however.

And tomorrow night’s game against Genk is surely a great opportunity to give him that.
