Under-fire West Ham United attacker Said Benrahma has quite possibly now played his last game for the club.
A red mist descended over West Ham winger Said Benrahma during our FA Cup defeat to Bristol City on Tuesday night, when he pathetically lashed out at his opponent and subsequently received a red card for his actions.
It wasn’t tough or brave, it was sheer stupidity from the 28-year-old and a clear sign to me that he just didn’t fancy it on the night.
He threw his teammates, and Hammers boss David Moyes, under the bus with his petulance, and he’ll probably now be remembered for that final act of weakness, rather than for the penalty that he scored in Prague back in June.
The Algerian has been acting strangely recently, and posted a video of him scoring a goal for Brentford on his Instagram just a few days ago.
Benrahma is being heavily linked with an exit from the London Stadium in the January transfer window, with the likes of Wolves thought to be chasing his signature.
And if he is done as a West Ham player now, what a miserable way it will be for him to have bowed out…

What a miserable way for Said Benrahma to bow out of West Ham
Benrahma is now banned for three games, meaning that he won’t be available for selection until February, if he remains at the club of course.
So there’s every chance that he has played his last game for the Hammers, and the sad thing is that he will be remembered more for the moment of madness at Ashton Gate on Tuesday night than for anything else.
Unfortunately for Said, he never lived up to his reputation and potential in East London.
Moyes is searching for attacking reinforcements this month, but with funds tight at the London Stadium, the Scot will have to balance the books by selling players first.
And Said Benrahma is definitely one of West Ham United’s most sellable assets – certainly out of the group of players who are surplus to requirements at the London Stadium.
FootMercato claim that the Hammers are demanding around £20 million for the Algeria international winger. I very highly doubt we’ll get anything near that though, and would expect him to leave for closer to £12-15 million.
If Benrahma does leave West Ham this month, it is incredibly sad that his last action in a Hammers shirt was the incredibly petulant kick out that resulted in a red card. A real shame indeed.
