West Ham fans made their way to the Sheffield United game at the weekend filled with excitement.

Because on the eve of the game David Moyes had declared Mohammed Kudus was ‘ready’ to start in the Premier League for West Ham.

The £38m summer signing of Ghana’s star boy has created a real buzz around West Ham.

But Moyes has been drip-feeding the much vaunted talent into West Ham’s games so far as he tends to do with most players joining from abroad.

One minute at Luton was followed by cameos from the bench in defeats to Man City and Liverpool.

Kudus started in Europa League and Carabao Cup victories over TSC Backa Topola and Lincoln.

West Ham fans have been calling for Moyes to bring Kudus into the starting XI where it matters most – the Premier League.

But there was disappointment when he was once again made to settle for a place on the bench against the Blades.

Moyes made supporters wait, though, until gone 70 minutes before bringing him on.

Kudus once again shone, completing a host of unbelievable attacking dribbles that had fans gasping. In fact he completed more dribbles in his 18-minute cameo than any other player.

‘He needs to be starting’ was the general consensus of opinion among Hammers fans before and after the game.

But Moyes’ phased introduction to Premier League life has some fans wondering whether Kudus is going to need time to adjust to the English game.

And despite his dazzling displays so far some supporters are saying they won’t believe the hype until Kudus is doing it on a regular basis in the top flight.
