One West Ham United player may well have one final chance to save his Hammers career tomorrow night against TSC Backa Topola.
West Ham travel out to Serbia to take on Backa Topola in the match-week five Europa League Group A fixture tomorrow night.
Hammers boss David Moyes will undoubtedly make a few changes here and there, with a big Premier League clash with Crystal Palace on the horizon.
And with changes incoming, one West Ham player in particular may well be handed a final chance to impress Moyes.
Maxwel Cornet moved to the London Stadium from Burnley in the summer of 2022 for £17.5 million (Sky Sports).
However, he has failed to establish himself with the Hammers, and Moyes has given him just 94 minutes of action in all competitions so far this season (Transfermarkt).
Cornet faces a bleak future at the London Stadium and he apparently could be sold in January.
So could tomorrow night be the final chance for the Ivorian to save his Hammers career?
Backa Topola vs West Ham could be Cornet’s big chance
Sure, we have to win the game to keep top spot in the group in our own hands, but Moyes will definitely freshen up the team.
And I really feel like Cornet deserves 90 minutes to show us exactly what he can do.
West Ham are crying out for some proper pace inside the final third, and the 27-year-old would provide us with exactly that.
The former Burnley man has really disappointed this season but what can he do when he’s been given just 94 minutes of action since the start of the campaign?
He definitely can’t find any kind of rhythm or consistency, that’s for sure.
I reckon West Ham United’s clash with Backa Topola tomorrow night should be a great chance for Maxwel Cornet to impress, if Moyes decides to start him of course.
Then we will all get a glimpse of whether he actually does have anything positive of offer us.
Come on Davey, start him and let’s see what the Ivory Coast international really has in his locker!
