Thilo Kehrer seems to be in no man’s land at West Ham United right now.
West Ham boss David Moyes brought Thilo Kehrer to the London Stadium from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2022 for around £10 million (The Guardian).

The 26-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich late on in the summer transfer window, but he eventually remained with the Hammers.

Since the start of the season though, Kehrer has been given just 15 minutes of action by Moyes – two substitute appearances.
I thought that he actually made great strides towards the latter part of last season, and he performed admirably when he came on as a second-half substitute in the Europa Conference League final.
However, there just doesn’t seem to be a way for Moyes to fit him into the team right now…
£10 million West Ham star Thilo Kehrer is in no man’s land
With Vladimir Coufal performing well at right-back, Kehrer won’t be getting into the side in the right-back position any time soon.
So what about at centre-back?

Well that won’t be happening either, with Kurt Zouma, Nayef Aguerd, Angelo Ogbonna and Konstantinos Mavropanos all ahead of him in the pecking order.
If Coufal gets injured or suspended then Kehrer will most likely come into the side, but an established Germany international cannot wait around for that to happen this season, especially with the Euros just nine months away.
A move away might have been the best thing for Thilo Kehrer in the summer, and for West Ham as well, had Moyes brought in a top-class right-back.
Instead, he stayed at the London Stadium, and I don’t expect him to get much game time this season. Maybe he’ll leave the club in January but still, I fully expect the next few months to be challenging for the German to say the least.
