Bayern Munich want to sign West Ham United defender Thilo Kehrer as a potential replacement for Benjamin Pavard this summer.

According to The Daily Mail, Bayern Munich could try to sign Thilo Kehrer from West Ham in the summer transfer window, with Pavard being heavily linked with an exit from the Allianz Arena.

Kehrer was left out of the West Ham squad for around clash with Chelsea on Sunday, and it was claimed that was because he failed a late fitness test.

Perhaps there was more to it though…

Thilo Kehrer linked with shock Bayern Munich transfer

The Daily Mail reckon that Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel is a big fan of Kehrer, having signed him for PSG during his time in charge of the French giants.

This is a bit of a weird one. Kehrer has been incredibly inconsistent for the Hammers but definitely has the potential to be a hit for us. He absolutely loves West Ham as well, and plays with so much passion and desire.

The Germany international just needs to cut out the reckless challenges and poor decision making from his game, and I have no doubts that he’ll come good for West Ham.

However, if Bayern Munich make a good offer for Thilo Kehrer, it will be very hard for West Ham to reject their advances.

Moyes has just bought Konstantinos Mavropanos to the London Stadium, so he’s well covered in the centre-back position. However, if the Scot allowed Kehrer to leave, he’d be very short at right-back.

It will be very interesting to see how this one plays out over the next week or so.
