Despite struggling at times, the German has firmly established himself as a real fan favourite amongst the West Ham fans. However, a recent report claimed that he could be sold this summer.

Kehrer came on as a late substitue for the Hammers against Bournemouth last weekend, so his omission from the squad today came as somewhat of a surprise.

However, it seems as though that fact he wasn’t selected for the squad today by Moyes has nothing to do with his future at the London Stadium.

Peter Drury was commentating on the match and explained the 26-year-old’s absence (Sky Sports, August 20th, 4:28pm):

“After a fitness test this morning, Thilo Kehrer was not included in the squad.”

Hopefully that’s not a cover up for him being in talks with another club.

In spite of the fact that he made a few big mistakes last season, I still feel as though Thilo Kehrer could be a hugely important player for West Ham.

He possesses absolutely rapid pace and has as much passion as any player in the Hammers squad. If he can just tighten up his concentration levels and decision making, he will undoubtedly become a top player for us as far as I’m concerned.
