The Hammers earned a hard-fought point against Genk last night.

David Moyes would have been delighted with the manner in which his team fought their way back into the game having trailed early.

The Scot would also have learned a lot more about two of his fringe players.

West Ham duo Manuel Lanzini and Arthur Masuaku sent very different messages to Moyes

The 28-year-old Argentinian ace was brilliant last night.

He was sensational when in possession but put in a real shift as well – a prerequisite for anyone who plays under David Moyes.

Lanzini was the architect of our equaliser. He played Vladimir Coufal in with a beautiful slide rule pass before the Czech ace found Said Benrahma to slot home.

The 28-year-old South American clearly still has a lot to offer and could play a key role for us this season.

His display tonight certainly proved a lot to the Hammers fans and more importantly, David Moyes.

Meanwhile, Arthur Masuaku experienced completely contrasting fortunes during our Europa League Group H clash with Genk last night.

He has really impressed at times for the Hammers but he has disappointed in equal measure.

Last night was one of those games for Arthur.

The Democratic Republic of Congo international was poor in possession and he looked rather lost before he was subbed off.

In fairness to Masuaku, he was deployed in an unfamiliar role but such is the competition for places at West Ham at the moment, he really did have to impress last night.

Unfortunately for him, he did the opposite.
