Dawson’s die-hard, no-nonsense approach to the game is what every West Ham fan wants to see and we have always appreciated players who give their all for the shirt.

The 23-year-old Hammers skipper returned for pre-season training yesterday and he seemed to be in fine spirits.
And Rice seemed to be genuinely excited when he saw his old mate Dawson walk through the door at Rush Green…

The 32-year-old will probably serve as more of a backup this season following the arrival of Nayef Aguerd.
