Six West Ham United players will miss tonight’s friendly vs Cambridge, as our mid-season break nears an end.

The Hammers last played on November 12th, when we were beaten 2-0 by Leicester City at the London Stadium.

West Ham are currently sitting in 16th spot in the Premier League table, just two points clear of the relegation places.

David Moyes has a serious amount of work to do, if he is to guide his side to a successful second half of the 2022/23 campaign.

He is under real pressure and has already had a warning from the West Ham board that results must improve, and fast.

The friendly games we have coming up against Cambridge and Fulham will be vitally important to get the players back up to speed.

But which players will feature tonight and who won’t?

Moyes will be taking a strong group of players to the Abbey Stadium to take on the League One side.

There are obviously some players who aren’t available for selection though.

Six West Ham stars definitely won’t be playing in the Cambridge vs West Ham clash…

Declan Rice, Nayef Aguerd, Lucas Paqueta, Alphonse Areola and Thilo Kehrer won’t be playing due to their international commitments.

Kehrer’s Germany have of course been eliminated from the World Cup, but he still isn’t back with the squad.

Meanwhile, Kurt Zouma only recently underwent knee surgery, so he definitely wont be ready to play.

Unfortunately for the Frenchman, it seems as though he certainly won’t be rushing back to action.

There was a boost for West Ham a couple of days ago when Maxwel Cornet returned to training, having spent a couple of months on the sidelines.

So we may well see the Ivorian have a run out.

Hopefully it’s a decent game at the Abbey Stadium tonight, and the Hammers players have a good run out.

The Cambridge vs West Ham friendly kicks off at 19:45.
