Bad Kurt Zouma injury news shared by reporter close to David Sullivan has come at a really bad time for West Ham United.

The 28-year-old centre-back underwent knee surgery a coupe of weeks ago and the initial prognosis suggested that he could be out for up to six months.

That was obviously a massive blow for David Moyes and the Hammers.

However, things started to look up when Zouma returned to West Ham’s Rush Green training ground seemingly in fine fettle from a physical perspective.

Club insiders then claimed that their source inside the London Stadium told them that he will be back involved with the squad ‘quickly’.

There has been further contradictory claims this afternoon though, and it’s not good for the Hammers…

Bad Kurt Zouma injury news

The French defender will not be making an early return to action according to club insiders Claret and Hugh.

C&H run quotes from an inside source at the London Stadium who told them:

Sadly, I don’t think he can train on the knee at the moment.

All we can do now is hope that Zouma returns to action very soon, and isn’t missing from action for too long.

The 6ft 3in centre-back joined the Hammers from Chelsea in the summer of 2021 for around £30 million (Daily Mail).

There were concerns about Zouma’s knee injuries before he signed for West Ham. It was rumoured at the time that David Sullivan was concerned about spending such vast amounts of money on the centre-back.

It seems as though Sullivan was right to be concerned.

Even when Zouma has played this season, he has looked far from fit. The way that he hobbles around with a limp almost all of the time after games is a huge worry.

The former Chelsea man didn’t seem anywhere near tip top condition before the Leicester game on November 12th, when he subsequently injured his knee:

Let’s hope that the operation that the 28-year-old had fixes the problem that has been holding him back physically for quite some time now.

The bad Kurt Zouma injury news was the last thing the West Ham fans needed to hear at the moment, considering our current plight in the Premier League.

As mentioned earlier, all we can do is keep our fingers crossed that the Frenchman will return to action sooner rather than later, and leave his injury problems behind him in the process.
