Pervis Estupinan has absolutely raved about Brighton’s Premier League rivals West Ham United.
The 25-year-old is one of the very best left-backs in the Premier League but he and his teammates were no match for West Ham last month, and he saw first-had just how dangerous we can be as a team.
The Hammers beat the Seagulls 3-1 down on the south coast after David Moyes deployed a counter-attacking system that absolutely ripped the hosts apart.

West Ham proved that having the vast majority of the ball means absolutely nothing – Brighton had 78% possession on the day.
And Estupinan has praised us for the way we went about our business against his side…
Player from West Ham United’s Premier League rivals raves about Moyes’s men
Estupinan was speaking to Brighton’s official website about their 3-1 defeat to the Hammers earlier this season.
And he absolutely raved about West Ham – our game-plan on the day in particular:

“Every team studies us more. West Ham did their homework, they planned the game very well and it was very hard for us to play through them as they sat back and closed spaces. But I think we still played a good match. We didn’t lose our essence of playing our football and looking to attack. We still have chances to score goals. Their keeper made some good saves. What cost us was counter-attacks. They took their chances, they were very good and it won them the game. We will try to work more on those situations. A lot of teams will have seen how West Ham play and will plan in this way when they play us. We need to find a way to solve these problems.”
So Moyes will know all about the Ecuadorian. He is a superb left-back but he was no match for Jarrod Bowen last month.
Moyes got his system and tactics absolutely spot on and in truth, we should have beaten Brighton by a far wider margin.
West Ham look like we could cause a lot of teams problems in the Premier League this season, and Estupinan’s comments prove exactly that.
