Hammers boss David Moyes would have been delighted with the result, because there were times when it seemed like we were going to be on the wrong end of a good hiding.

Jamie Carragher says West Ham player made him eat his words during 3-1 Chelsea win
The football pundit was commentating on the game on Sky Sports yesterday (August 20th, 6:15pm).
And Jamie Carragher absolutely raved about Jarrod Bowen, after he played as a central striker following the substitution of Michail Antonio:

“Brilliant from Bowen, I said I was surprised that Antonio was taken off but if he can do this, he’s making me eat my words.”

Bowen will undoubtedly be a hugely important player for us this season, whether he plays out on the right wing or through the middle as a centre-forward.
West Ham won 3-1 yesterday against Chelsea because of the hard work that Michail Antonio put in during the second-half, and then Jarrod Bowen’s non-stop running during the final 15 minutes of the game.
We will need him to do that more often this season if Moyes fails to sign a striker in the summer transfer window.
