England boss Gareth Southgate has a real selection problem lying ahead after Declan Rice withdrew from the Three Lions squad.

The West Ham fans are delighted with the news, however.
The 22-year-old Hammers midfielder has been a standout performer for Gareth Southgate and England over the past 18 months or so.
He has proven himself to be a key member of the Three Lions starting XI.
The same can be said for Rice at West Ham under David Moyes.

The England boss will now be without the services of the West Ham man for the Three Lions’ next two World Cup qualifying games against Albiana and San Marino.

Rice’s withdrawal through illness means that Southgate will not be able to rely upon the most consistent member of his team for what are two very important games.
Sure, England would be able to beat San Marino with our B team but Albania are no mugs.
And Gareth Southgate would have undoubtedly selected Declan Rice for England against the latter.

What is bad news for England is good news for West Ham though. Rice will now be given some much-needed rest.
