Declan Rice praised young West Ham striker Sonny Perkins on two different social media platforms last night.

The 17-year-old made his senior debut for the Hammers against Rapid Vienna in the Europa League last night.

Perkins is very highly rated at the London Stadium.

David Moyes will be very excited about the prospect of the teenager breaking through into the West Ham first-team.

Perkins has been in fine form for West Ham United’s youth teams so far this season.

The talented young attacker has bagged four goals in four games for the under-18s this season and has scored five in eight for the under-23s (Transfermarkt).

The 17-year-old was on the bench for West Ham’s Europa League clash with Rapid Vienna last night. David Moyes brought him on with about 15 minutes remaining.

And he made a very big impression. Perkins could have scored with a couple of minutes after coming on. His header was brilliantly saved by the Rapid goalkeeper.

Aside from that, Perkins displayed a really impressive work-rate, an exceptional touch and a great knack of finding space.

He also showed willingness to run the channels. What an exciting young player we have on our hands at West Ham.

Perkins has obviously made a very big impression already at West Ham.
