The Hammers were absolutely brilliant yesterday and were totally deserving of their 1-0 win at Goodison Park.

In fact, that scoreline flattered Everton.

One of the standout performers for West Ham yesterday was Kurt Zouma.

The 26-year-old was signed from Chelsea late on in the summer transfer window for just under £30 million (Sky Sports).

He has been an absolute rock for the Hammers since moving to the London Stadium and he was truly magnificent against Everton yesterday.

What a difference he has made for us.

The Scot spoke to reporters about Zouma’s display and spoke very highly of the Frenchman.

Moyes hinted that another top-class signing could be en route to East London soon, as quoted by Football.London:

“I felt by bringing Kurt in they would need to step up and I want to do it again. I want to try and raise the bar again. So the next chance I get, I know if I can bring another Kurt Zouma type player to the club then I think it will continue to keep the standards and the team doing well. I think he’s a great lad, everybody knows him, I think a lot of people know he was successful at Chelsea.”

That really is very exciting to hear.

Moyes is great at giving top-class players who have been somewhat underperforming a second lease of life.

West Ham desperately need to sign another elite striker in January.
