The 31-year-old Ghana international joined the Hammers in the summer of 2016 from Swansea City for £20.5 million (BBC).
Injuries wreaked havoc with his West Ham career, however, and he was swiftly shipped back to the Swans in January 2018 for around £20 million (BBC).

Ayew didn’t actually do too badly when he played for the Hammers and registered 17 goal involvements in 50 games (Transfermarkt).
The Ghanaian enjoyed his time at the London Stadium. Things just didn’t work out for him with West Ham.
He told London World:
“I enjoyed my time there and made some really good friends on and off the pitch, so it’s always nice to see people you know looking happy and enjoying their game.”
Andre Ayew makes claim about West Ham ace Michail Antonio
The 31-year-old is clearly a very big fan of the Jamaica international.
He praised him to the hilt when speaking to London World:

“In training, you could easily see that there was something special but what he’s done now is add something special and that is the finishing. In football the moment you add that finishing and assisting to your game then you’re going places so it is honestly refreshing to see him getting it right over there.”
Antonio has reached an entirely new level this season.
Micky has bagged seven goals and four assists in 16 games in all competitions for the Hammers (Transfermarkt).
The 31-year-old has struggled of late, however, so hopefully David Moyes brings in a top-class striker in January in order to get the best out of him.
There is a genuine danger that Antonio will become complacent with absolutely zero competition.

Hopefully it won’t be too long before we see Antonio back to his best. Because we need him firing on all cylinders between now and the end of the season.
As Ayew said, he is a special player. And we’re backing the former Nottingham Forest man to return to goalscoring form sooner rather than later.
