Tottenham are set to try one last throw of the dice at signing Nicolo Zaniolo as West Ham watch on doing absolutely nothing.

That’s according to a report from Italian publication La Repubblica who claim that Tottenham are readying one final assault for the 23-year-old Roma star’s signature.

However, Roma are believed to be reluctant to sell the 23-year-old star to the Hammers, because the East London club’s owners are allegedly trying to include a clause into the deal whereby they won’t be obliged to sign him permanently if we are relegated.

Tottenham manager Antonio Conte has been chasing the AS Roma attacking midfielder as well.

And now Spurs could be set to make one final attempt to sign the Italy international…

Tottenham eye late Zaniolo swoop

La Repubblica claim that Spurs are ready to launch a last-minute assault on the Roma star.

The Italian club want around €30 million (£26.5 million) for the 23-year-old according to Roma Press.

So why on earth aren’t West Ham making a late move for the Italy international as well? He’d be absolutely perfect for the Hammers and he is exactly what we need right now.

Football Italia describe the Roma star as a wonderful talent. And they’re spot on – he really is special.

Zaniolo is a world-class player in the making. Italy boss Roberto Mancini once described the 23-year-old as an ‘extraordinary’ player (Goal).

He is exactly what we need at West Ham. It’s just such a shame that we didn’t move quicker to sign him.

Zaniolo is big and powerful and standing at 6ft 3in tall, he seems to be perfectly built for the Premier League.

The Roma attacker can play in a variety of positions including the number 10 role and on both wings, and he has a proven track record of producing the goods at the very highest level for a sustained period of time.

Unfortunately for us though, it seems as though if any club are going to win the race for Zaniolo on deadline day, it will be Tottenham.
