A prominent football journalist has made a complete U-turn on a potential £13m West Ham United deadline day deal.
Florian Plettenberg has now claimed that German outfit Union Berlin will not be selling Sheraldo Becker on transfer deadline day.
That comes after he suggested earlier today that the Hammers had made an enquiry for the attacker.
Union Berlin value Becker at around £13 million according to Yahoo.

That’s a moot point now though, with the Suriname international set to stay with the Bundesliga club…
West Ham deadline day deal for Becker off
Florian Plettenberg reckons that the German side have now decided to keep the 27-year-old at the club on deadline day, and are not entertaining any more offers for him.
That’s somewhat of a shame for the Hammers.
I really feel like Becker could have made a big difference for David Moyes between now and the end of the season.
Becker is absolutely rapid and players with a real kind of directness that we seem to lack at the London Stadium. He can play on either wing, in the number 10 position or even as an auxiliary striker.

Give Me Sport recently described the Union Berlin ace as ‘lightening quick’.
He has a real final product as well with eight goals and six assists in 26 games to his name for Union Berlin so far this season (Transfermarkt).
The 27-year-old would have added real depth to Moyes’s options and would have provided strong competition for our attacking midfielders and wingers.
A West Ham deadline day deal for Sheraldo Becker will now not be happening though. And that’s a shame for us as far as I’m concerned.
