West Ham are willing to sell star Gianluca Scamacca when they confirm an imminent deal for Carlos Borges claims a new report.
Italian striker Gianluca Scamacca continues to be heavily linked with a West Ham exit in the summer transfer window.
And is it any wonder why after yet another interview in which he does little to suggest he wants – or intends – to stay.
The Hammers spent £35m to bring the 6ft 5in star to east London from Sassuolo last summer.
But the move has not worked out as he nor West Ham would have hoped. A combination of illness, injury and fitness issues meant he played just 16 times in the Premier League, scoring three goals.
The 24-year-old did play a key role in West Ham’s Europa Conference League triumph, though, scoring some important goals in tight games as he notched five in nine appearances. But for the most part neither he nor David Moyes could make it work.

The forward has been linked with no less than six Serie A sides this summer.
He was absent from West Ham’s squad for the 2-2 friendly draw with Dagenham and Redbridge at the weekend.
And that sparked claims he had been given permission to return to his homeland ahead of a Hammers exit.
The likes of Il Tempo – via TMW – and Roma Press reported over the weekend that Scamacca was ‘in Italy as Roma re-open talks’ for West Ham’s £35m man.
Scamacca has given a number of interviews in which he does little to suggest he wants – or intends – to stay at West Ham.
Some reports have claimed he could be sold for just £16m and others that he could be loaned out for a mere £2.6m fee.
The forward was back in training with West Ham on Monday and had been given permission to fly back to Italy for personal reasons – as reported on Hammers News.

But while there it seems the forward has issued another come and get me plea following on from his declaration that he would love to play for boyhood club Roma and Jose Mourinho.
Some West Ham fans want to see Scamacca given another season to prove himself. Others are getting sick of the constant rumours and his comments in the press.
Now it seems there is a scenario in which Scamacca will be allowed to leave the Hammers this summer.
Because West Ham are willing to sell star Scamacca when they confirm an imminent deal for Carlos Borges claims a new report.

That’s according to Gazzetta dello Sport which claims West Ham will sanction the Italy striker’s exit when the deal for Man City starlet Borges is confirmed.
Fabrizio Romano claimed earlier this week the deal – at a reported £14-15m – will be confirmed this week.
That claim has since been repeated by several sources close to the West Ham board.
If the claim is accurate, it suggests West Ham see Borges as a striker option.
Either that or suggestions – from sources and based on pre-season line-ups – that Maxwel Cornet will be used as a striker option this season could have real substance.
That would leave Said Benrahma and Borges competing for a role on the left.
