David Moyes has made a big statement of intent about exciting striker Divin Mubama amid West Ham United’s transfer struggles.
West Ham’s painfully slow summer transfer window has left many Hammers fans feeling both frustrated and concerned.
But for the club’s emerging academy graduates, it could be the best thing that ever happens to them.
West Ham have been linked with a plethora of players in all positions this summer.
And a number of those have been strikers.
With the futures of Michail Antonio and Gianluca Scamacca uncertain, that is hardly surprising.
David Moyes has allegedly missed out on Viktor Gyokeres to Sporting and Chelsea’s Armando Broja wants to stay at Stamford Bridge.

West Ham’s transfer window profligacy thus far is a worry for supporters.
But for one player in particular – a certain Divin Mubama – it is very good news indeed.
Many expected to see homegrown Hammers starlet Mubama loaned out next season to gain more first team experience.
However, it seems he is very much part of the first team plans at the London Stadium.
Because Moyes has made big statement of intent about exciting striker Mubama amid West Ham transfer struggles.

‘He’s doing as well as anybody, so why not?’
“I think he could, yeah (be useful for the first team next season),” Moyes told Sky Sports.
“He’s a young centre-forward and it’s a very hard role to play, being a young player, for many different reasons. But we like him a lot.
“We hope that we can continue to develop him. We’ll get him minutes and get him playing as often as we can. At the minute, he’s doing as well as anybody, so why not?
“But again, this is the time of the season where it’s a bit easier. The pressure isn’t on. The games have got no great meaning to them in pre-season, except you’re getting yourself ready and fit.”
Mubama excites West Ham fans with his pace, power, energy and aerial ability.
We’ll all be hoping Mubama can take his big chance next term. Because there’s nothing like seeing one of your own scoring goals at the top level.
And it has been far too long since West Ham produced a top quality striker from their academy.
