The Hammers actually wanted to sign the Marseille man in January but failed to do so in the end.
The 24-year-old Frenchman made his name with Arsenal before leaving the Emirates to join Marseille last summer.

Now Guendouzi could be set for a Premier League return though, with West Ham boss David Moyes eyeing him up as a replacement for Declan Rice.
Rice, 24, is being heavily linked with a move to Arsenal this summer. And it seems as though Moyes has someone specific in mind to replace him…
West Ham eyeing up Matteo Guendouzi as Declan Rice replacement
The France international is being lined up to replace Rice at the London Stadium this summer according to a report from L’Equipe.
Firstly I have to say that the former Arsenal man is nowhere near good enough to replace Declan Rice on his own.
However, if signed alongside a strong central midfielder like Ibrahim Sangare or Khéphren Thuram, then I think he’d be a fine addition to Moyes’s ranks at the London Stadium.

He has been described as an ‘incredibly progressive’ player, and a very good passer of the football (Breaking the Lines).
Guendouzi would be absolutely perfect for West Ham in my opinion. He has energy and stamina to burn and is a really tenacious tackler, as well as being a superb passer of the football.
Foot Mercato claim that Marseille want around €30 million (£26 million) for the 24-year-old former Arsenal midfielder.
That’s great value as far as I’m concerned, and the Hammers should be all over it.
However, Guendouzi should in no way be considered as a direct Declan Rice replacement at West Ham.
