West Ham United could release 29-year-old - ExWHUemployee

West Ham United could release Ryan Fredericks at the end of the season rather than offer him a new contract according to ExWHUemployee.

That’s because of the recent emergence of Ben Johnson and now Harrison Ashby.

Fredericks joined the Hammers on a free transfer from Fulham in the summer of 2018.

The 29-year-old moved to the London Stadium with a big reputation from his time in the Championship with Fulham but he has failed to live up to expectations at West Ham.

Injuries haven’t helped but even when he has been fit, he just hasn’t produced the goods on a consistent enough basis.

ExWHUemployee claims West Ham United man could be released

Fredericks is now the Hammers’ third or fourth choice right-back behind Vladimir Coufal, Ben Johnson and perhaps even Harrison Ashby now as well.

As a result, Ex claims that West Ham could release the former Fulham man in the summer, rather than offer him a new deal.

Moving Fredericks on in the summer will be the right decision from David Moyes.

As highlighted above, the Scot has plenty of competition and cover in the right-back position.

Coufal and Johnson will fight it out for the right-back spot over the next couple of seasons whilst Ashby will have a big part to play as well.

It’s time for Fredericks and West Ham to go their separate ways.

And if that does indeed happen, then we wish the 29-year-old all the best in his future endeavours.
