However, it was suggested that the caveat is that Kudus will only be signed if Paqueta leaves to join Manchester City in the summer transfer window.

West Ham to make exciting £40m midfielder signing, even if Lucas Paqueta stays

The Standard reckon that the Hammers are intent on signing the Ajax star, regardless of whether Paqueta stays or leaves this summer.

Kudus would be a hugely exciting signing for West Ham and it would be a major statement from the East London club.

Ajax want around £40 million for the Ghana international (Goal). In the long run, that will end up looking like exceptional value for money.

He is an elite midfielder who can operate on either wing as well. He can even play in the centre-forward position if need be.

Kudus bagged 11 goals and four assists in 30 Eredivisie games for Ajax last season (Transfermarkt).

The 23-year-old has power and pace in abundance and would be a terrific addition to Moyes’s ranks at the London Stadium this summer.

If West Ham sign Kudus, whilst keeping Lucas Paqueta, we could be onto something really special indeed.
