The additions of a new left-back, centre-back, central midfielder, a striker and a winger will be pivotal if we are to enjoy success on all fronts this season.

Reporter close to David Sullivan says West Ham deal to sign midfielder is now off

Sean Whetstone took to Twitter this afternoon to suggest that the Hammers’ move to sign Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay is now off.

He tweeted:

The claim from Whetstone is in stark contrast to what he said yesterday. The reporter, who has close links with David Sullivan claimed that the Hammers were in fact interested in signing the 26-year-old.

To be honest, missing out on McTominay shouldn’t be too much of a blow, as long as West Ham secure a deal for James Ward-Prowse and perhaps someone like Youssouf Fofana as well.

With the reporter close to Sullivan claiming that the West Ham deal to sign midfielder McTominay from Manchester United is off, Moyes is clearly pursuing other targets.

Let’s hope that whoever the Scot brings in to the London Stadium this summer does the business for the Hammers.
