West Ham technical director Tim Steidten plots a double Bundesliga deal with a £35m raid on his old club for Piero Hincapie claims a new report.
What Tim Steidten wants, he usually gets – as West Ham found out to their benefit during the summer transfer window.
West Ham’s German technical director has taken on cult hero-like status in a very short space of time after helping the Hammers pull off one of the best transfer windows in their modern history.
It was doom and gloom around the club when talisman Declan Rice was sold to rivals Arsenal and West Ham rounded off pre-season with a woeful thumping at the hands of – somewhat ironically – Steidten’s former club Bayer Leverkusen.

But he would go on to help the Hammers use the Rice money expertly, bringing in Mohammed Kudus, Edson Alvarez, James Ward-Prowse and Konstantinos Mavropanos for a combined total of £122m.
Credit of course also has to go to David Moyes, David Sullivan and the West Ham board.
It was Steidten, though, who got deals over the line. So much so West Ham fans only believed a signing was happening once they’d seen a picture of the player on a jet with the German.
They say there is no rest for the wicked, though. And Steidten is certainly wicked as the kids and Ali G might say.

West Ham technical director Tim Steidten plots double Bundesliga deal with £35m raid on old club for star Piero Hincapie claims new report
We’ve been reporting recently on claims from multiple sources about West Ham preparing a move for red hot Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy.
The in-form 27-year-old set a new Bundesliga record at the weekend when he became the first player ever to score 13 goals in the first seven games of the German season.
West Ham undoubtedly need a new striker to eventually replace Michail Antonio.
And Guirassy has been linked with the Hammers in just about every window since Moyes came back in 2020 – including during the summer.
Steidten stalking old stomping ground for Antonio and Ogbonna heirs?
Now West Ham technical director Steidten plots a double Bundesliga deal with a £35m raid on his old club for star Piero Hincapie claims a new report.
Not only are the Hammers allegedly weighing up a move for Guirassy. They also want Bayer Leverkusen’s Ecuador international defender Hincapie.
The 21-year-old has already made an astonishing 27 appearances for his country.
The left-footed central defender can also play at left-back – an area where West Ham need a young player as cover for Emerson in the coming seasons.

‘Now the Hammers are keen’
West Ham will also need a replacement for their own left-footed centre-back Angelo Ogbonna with this expected to be his last season.
Claret and Hugh reports that Steidten is very much eyeing Hincapie – although they warn any move won’t come cheap.
“Hincapie has been linked with a move away from the Bundesliga but the Ecuadorian international opted to stay,” the report states.
“Now the Hammers are keen which comes as no surprise given Steidten will know the player from his Bayer Leverkusen days.
“Steidten – with great contacts at the club – will know Hincapie well and will hope to use that very much in his negotiations. Having signed a deal until 2027 back in February, he won’t come cheap with an estimated price of £35 million on his head.”
