West Ham are surely on red alert over a Callum Wilson deal chance after Eddie Howe’s fresh Newcastle transfer admission.
West Ham have already beaten Newcastle United to the signing of Kalvin Phillips.
And the Hammers have also been linked with a surprise move for Magpies striker Callum Wilson.
According to a recent eeport from The Sun, West Ham have been informed that nemesis striker Wilson is available before Thursday’s deadline.
So eyebrows were raised on Friday Newcastle boss Eddie Howe spoke openly and honestly, publicly admitting that he’d seen the talk of a potential move for Wilson to West Ham and that it may be out of his control to stop it.

West Ham surely on red alert over Wilson deal
Howe explained that Newcastle’s FFP position may dictate departures.
And he conceded he could not compete with West Ham financially to land Phillips.
Well West Ham are surely now on red alert over a Wilson deal after Howe’s fresh Newcastle admission.
Speaking today, as reported by the likes of The Independent, Howe said it will be ‘impossible’ to make any signings without allowing stars to leave.
“We are guardians of the club’s future and we want to make the right decisions for the club’s future and for FFP. We don’t want to breach FFP,” Howe said.

Howe’s fresh Newcastle admission
“That is where I will support the decisions that are made for the long term and that will benefit the club…
“(The prospect of) no new arrivals increases with every passing hour because the deadline looms.
“Probably what we won’t do is bringing a player in without losing a player the other way, I think that’s impossible.”
Interestingly, Wilson raved about the Hammers last year, describing the Irons as a club that everyone wants to play for.
It seems West Ham are looking at other players as a priority over Wilson – including Jota and Ibrahim Osman.
But who knows what the last couple of days of the window may hold. Especially if Howe wants to bring someone in.
