West Ham summer transfer targets: Hammers boss David Moyes has been heavily linked with five players in particular this summer.
The Scot has an incredibly difficult task on his hands in the transfer market this summer, if he is to build a squad capable of challenging for honours on all fronts next season.
Some West Ham summer transfer targets are very exciting names whilst others will be more than good enough to do a job.
Meanwhile, some transfer links, as per usual, have been completely absurd.
So what players are actually realistic signings for Moyes and the Hammers this summer? One thing’s for sure – Moyes will be prioritising the additions of a new centre-back, left-back, central midfielder, centre-forward and a new number one goalkeeper.
In my opinion, there are five players in particular who are very much on the Hammers’ radar…
West Ham summer transfer targets: Five players David Moyes is most likely to sign
This one is surely a no-brainer right? L’Equipe (print edition June 5th) claim that PSG are quite literally waiting for the Hammers to exercise our £7.7 million option for the 29-year-old stopper.
We think Areola’s permanent move to the London Stadium is imminent.
West Ham have already made a £21.25 million bid for the 19-year-old left-back according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Hickey is incredibly talented, athletic, energetic and at 19, he fits perfectly into the category of players Moyes wants to sign.
The Moroccan’s move to the London Stadium has supposedly been imminent for more than a week now. The 26-year-old will be a superb addition to Moyes’s ranks at West Ham and L’Equipe reckon it is only a matter of time before he is announced as a Hammers player.
90 Min reckon that the 26-year-old central midfielder is a key transfer target for West Ham. The Burnley ace has absolutely everything that Moyes looks for.
He is a very combative central midfielder and is a tenacious tackler with an uncanny knack for intercepting the ball and interrupting the opposition’s play. I’d be very surprised if Brownhill doesn’t end up as a West Ham player before the start of next season.
The 20-year-old Chelsea hitman is an unbelievable talent and is perfectly suited to West Ham’s system.
Broja is a key transfer target for West Ham according to The Daily Mail. I believe this one has every chance of happening.
In all fairness, you could add Jesse Lingard to that list but my gut feeling is that if it hasn’t happened now, it won’t be happening at all.
West Ham probably have around 10-15 key summer transfer targets. And if we manage to get the five names mentioned above signed up, it would be the nigh on perfect summer transfer window.
As long as David Moyes supplements those five signings with another couple of squad players as well, of course.
