David Moyes 'certainly interested' in bringing Christian Eriksen to West Ham, insider claims

West Ham United manager David Moyes allegedly wants to bring Christian Eriksen to the London Stadium this summer.

That’s according to a report from club insiders Claret and Hugh who claim that Moyes is ‘certainly interested’ in signing the 30-year-old Denmark international.

Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest whilst playing for Denmark at the Euros last summer.

It wasn’t surprising that clubs were apprehensive about signing the 30-year-old. Brentford took the plunge though and he has gone on to be a huge hit with the Premier League side.

Eriksen has really impressed since moving to Brentford on a free transfer in January. He played a key role for Thomas Frank’s side.

The 30-year-old proved over the past couple of months that he still has the quality needed to make a difference in the Premier League.

The Dane bagged one goal and four assists in 11 Premier League games for the Bees last season (Transfermarkt).

Brentford allegedly have a new contract offer on the table for the former Tottenham man (Claret and Hugh) but he is currently undecided as to where his future lies…

Christian Eriksen a transfer target for West Ham

Claret and Hugh reckon that the Hammers are one of a number of clubs who are chasing the 30-year-old ex-Spurs man’s signature.

On a short-term deal, we think that Eriksen would be a very smart addition for West Ham. His ability to unlock defences with his exceptional passing ability would provide the Hammers with a totally different dimension to our attacking play.

Eriksen proved during his 11 appearances for Brentford that he is still more than capable of dictating the tempo of the game at the very highest level.

The Dane might not be as energetic as he once was but he still has a brilliantly intelligent football brain. He showed against us a couple of months ago just how good he still is.

Bees boss Thomas Frank is a huge fan of Eriksen and recently labelled him as an ‘unbelievable’ player (The Evening Standard).

The 112-capped Denmark international still very much has what it takes to produce the goods at the very highest level for another couple of years at least.

West Ham keeping an eye on the Christian Eriksen situation is good news. Signing him on a free this summer would be a great deal in my opinion.
