The 24-year-old was all set to join the Hammers at one point in the summer.

West Ham had agreed a £14 million deal to sign the Serbia international and agreed personal terms with the player himself.

Milenkovic’s agent’s extortionate demands scuppered the transfer in the end, however (ExWHUemployee).

David Moyes went ahead and brought Kurt Zouma to the London Stadium instead.

It seems as though Moyes hasn’t given up on the chance of signing the Fiorentina man, however.

West Ham to go back in for Fiorentina ace Nikola Milenkovic?

The Serbia international is on the Hammers’ radar once again according to Calcio Mercato.

With Angelo Ogbonna and Craig Dawson set to turn 34 and 32 respectively before the end of the season, signing another top class defender with youth on his side wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world.

And they don’t come much better than Milenkovic.

Described as an ‘extraordinary defender’ by x-sport news, Milenkovic is a truly elite centre-back.

In 34 Serie A appearances for Fiorentina last season, the Serbian scored three goals and registered one assist. In those outings, he averaged 1.4 tackles, 1.3 interceptions, 3.6 clearances and one block per match. The 23-year-old won an average of 3 aerial duals per game. He also had an 86% pass completion rate from an average of 46.6 passes per match (Who Scored).

In 11 games this term he has improved in all of those statistical categories apart from clearances.

Milenkovic is out of contract with Fiorentina in the summer of 2023.

If West Ham manage to sign him for around £14 million it would be great business.

The problem for Moyes is that Tottenham, Inter Milan and Juventus also want to sign Milenkovic. So we won’t have things all our own way, that’s for sure.
