West Ham simply must help ‘desperate’ David Moyes by signing his personal favourite Harry Maguire if growing rumours are true.
They say there is no smoke without fire and when it comes to persistent transfer rumours there is usually an element of truth to that.
Everybody knows West Ham tried to sign Harry Maguire in the summer and last January.
The England defender admitted as much himself in a press conference last week where he declared West Ham to be “a massive club”.
Maguire also made it clear he refuses to sit on the bench at Man United much longer. And that was seen as a come and get me plea to David Moyes and West Ham ahead of the January transfer window.

Since then, though, It has been claimed that new Hammers technical director Tim Steidten could ‘put the kibosh’ on Moyes’ plans to sign Maguire.
But West Ham simply must help ‘desperate’ Moyes by signing his personal favourite Maguire if growing rumours are true.
The Scot clearly seriously admires Maguire hence spending the best part of three months chasing him over the summer.
With doubts over Nayef Aguerd’s consistency, concerns over the injury history of captain Kurt Zouma and ageing Angelo Ogbonna likely to leave at the end of the season, the Hammers do need a new centre-back option.

No smoke without fire on Aguerd, Zouma and Maguire?
Especially as growing speculation refuses to die down about the futures of both Zouma and Aguerd.
Football Insider – yes we know – claims both Aguerd and Zouma are serious targets for the Saudi Pro League in January.
Those claims are also being made elsewhere and are persisting after the duo were subject to interest in the summer.
The report states Moyes is “desperate” to replace them should they depart. Indeed it is even claimed he already wants to sign a central defender regardless of what happens with his current first choice duo.

Only right Moyes gets his say on key replacement – after all it is his forte
“A well-placed source has told Football Insider that West Ham boss David Moyes would be “desperate” to replace either player should they quit for the Middle East,” it is reported.
“Football Insider revealed on Monday (16 October) that the Irons are keen to sign a new centre-back in January regardless of the futures of Zouma or Aguerd.
“One such target is Harry Maguire, who the London club tried to sign from Man United in the summer window before he chose to remain at Old Trafford.”
If West Ham do receive an offer or offers that are too good to refuse for Zouma and/or Aguerd then they must compensate Moyes for the disruption by bringing in the defender he wants.
The defensive unit and organisation is arguably Moyes’ forte. So the Hammer must entrust him to make the right call if Zouma and/or Aguerd are replaced.
