West Ham have allegedly asked about the possibility of signing Matt Doherty on loan from Tottenham on transfer deadline day.
That’s according to The Sun reporter Jack Rosser who claims that the Hammers have made an enquiry for the 30-year-old Tottenham defender.

A deal to bring Doherty to the London Stadium from Spurs allegedly appears unlikely at the moment though.
David Moyes has been a really busy man in the transfer market already this summer.

The Scot has signed eight new players so far, including two centre-backs, a defensive midfielder, a left winger, a centre-forward, a midfield play-maker, a left wing-back and a goalkeeper.
However, it seems as though Moyes is far from finished in his player recruitment, with deadline day now upon us.
And the addition of a right-back/wing-back may well be on the cards…
West Ham make Matt Doherty enquiry
The Sun reporter Jack Rosser has suggested that the Hammers have approached Tottenham both signing the 30-year-old.
As things stand though, it seems unlikely that he will move to the London Stadium.
Doherty joined Tottenham from Wolves for around £15 million in the summer of 2020 (Evening Standard).
The 29-capped Republic of Ireland international has fallen down the pecking order at Spurs, however, since Antonio Conte took over from Nuno Espirito Santo at the end of last year.
Doherty excels when playing in the right wing-back role, so perhaps that is a hint that David Moyes is ready to adopt a 3-5-2 or a 5-2-3 this season.

We actually think Doherty would be a decent signing for West Ham, as long as it’s only a loan deal to plug a gap for the season.
Moyes really needs to be targeting younger and more hungry players than the Irishman. Having said that, on a short-term option, we think that he could actually excel at the London Stadium.
West Ham signing Matt Doherty would provide Moyes with a great option down the right hand flank.
We highly doubt that Tottenham will allow the 30-year-old to join the Hammers this summer though.
