West Ham have now agreed personal terms with Maxwel Cornet after having a bid for the Ivorian accepted by Burnley.
That’s according to a report from French football journalist Fabrice Hawkins who claims that the 25-year-old is edging closer to a move to the London Stadium after agreeing personal terms with the Hammers.

West Ham manager David Moyes has been chasing Cornet since a move to sign Filip Kostic proved to be problematic (The Guardian’s Jacob Steinberg).

West Ham agree personal terms with Maxwel Cornet
The Hammers have made a big breakthrough in the chase for the Ivory Coast international’s signature with French football journalist Fabrice Hawkins claiming that a medical could be imminent:
That really is great news for West Ham.
What a signing Cornet would be for the Hammers!
Cornet joined Burnley from Lyon in the summer of 2021 for around £13 million (BBC).
He has been a huge hit at Turf Moor, bagging nine goals and two assists in 29 games for the Clarets (Transfermarkt).
We believe that the Burnley speed demon would be a sensational signing for West Ham.

He’s one of the quickest forwards in the Premier League and can operate on either wing or at left-back.
Cornet can even play as a striker if need be!
The 29-capped Ivory Coast international is aggressive, direct and loves running at opposing defenders.
West Ham have struggled without any real pace in our team over the past year or so. Michail Antonio has definitely lost half a yard.
The Premier League is built on power and pace nowadays. The Burnley star has been described as an ‘explosive player’ by ESPN pundit Ale Moreno. Meanwhile, Last Word on Sports label Cornet as an ‘amazing’ dribbler.
Let’s hope that Maxwel Cornet is announced as a West Ham player as soon as possible. And who knows, he might even be in the squad for our Premier League opener against Manchester City on Sunday!
