A surprise report has just claimed that West Ham United could still sign Eintracht Frankfurt ace Filip Kostic by this weekend.
Gazzetta dello Sport (print edition August 4th, pages 2 and 3) claims that the Hammers ‘plan to complete a deal’ for Kostic within the next 48-72 hours.

It is suggested that West Ham have made an offer worth €15 million (£12.6 million) plus bonuses for the 29-year-old Serbia international.
Kostic would be an unbelievable signing for the Hammers. David Moyes is clearly desperate to get this one over the line.

It does seem strange that the Scot is apparently on the verge of signing Maxwel Cornet though (The Guardian). Perhaps the Ivorian and Burnley are being used by West Ham to flush out Kostic and Frankfurt?
Claims have been made to the contrary today though…
West Ham still hopeful of Filip Kostic deal
Gazzetta dello Sport (print edition August 4th, pages 2 and 3) claim that the Hammers hope to get a deal for the 29-year-old done before Sunday at the latest.
The same report does claim that Juventus are still well in the race for his signature, however.
Please let there be some truth to the claims that the Hammers could get a deal for Kostic over the line soon. He’d be such a fanatic addition to Moyes’s squad at the London Stadium.
talkSPORT recently described Kostic as a ‘brilliant’ player, and they’re not wrong.

The Eintracht Frankfurt ace is an incredibly hard-working player and he would suit our system perfectly.
He is old fashioned in the sense that he’s left-footed and plays on the left! As a result, Kostic is much more of a provider than a goalscorer.
The 48-capped Serbia international bagged 15 assists and seven goals in 43 games for Eintracht Frankfurt last season (Transfermarkt). That’s a healthy return by anyone’s standards.
We would absolutely love to see Filip Kostic at West Ham.
And according to Gazzetta dello Sport, there is still every chance that that could happen.
