West Ham United target Rodrigo Becao is reportedly keen to join Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window.
That’s according to Tutto Udinese who claim that the 26-year-old Udinese centre-back wants to move to Tottenham over any other club this winter.
It seems as though the Brazilian is more likely to be plying his trade at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium than the London Stadium though.
That’s a real shame because I believe that the Udinese star has all of the attributes that West Ham are currently lacking in the central defensive department…
West Ham plan in tatters as Becao wants to join Tottenham in January window
Tutto Udinese reckon that a move to Spurs this winter is the 26-year-old’s preference.
That’s great news for Tottenham and very bad news for West Ham.
The Brazilian is a very good defender and is hard as nails. I think he’d actually be perfectly suited to Premier League football.
Standing at 6ft 3in tall, Becao is incredibly strong in the air and is a tenacious tackler.
His aggressive playing style is quintessentially South American.
In nine Serie A outings for Udinese so far this season, Becao has averaged three tackles and 1.6 interceptions per match. He’s also won an average of 2.1 aerial duels per game (Who Scored).
The Brazilian has made 41.1 passes on average per match and has recorded a completion rate of 79.5% (Who Scored).
Becao really is a very solid all-round defender, but he isn’t the best with the ball at his feet.
The 26-year-old can obviously work on that and improve though.
The report claiming that Rodrigo Becao wants to join Tottenham in the January transfer window is a really big blow for West Ham in my opinion.
